What is the 1st Swiss Alpine Goldwing Challenge 2023?

The 1st Swiss Alpine Goldwing Challenge is a round trip through the beautiful Swiss Alps organized by the Goldwing Club Switzerland.
The tour is intended as a transfer-tour between the Treffen in Italy (GWCI) and the Treffen in Switzerland (GWCCH).
Since the campsite at the CH-Treffen, Arbon may be arrived only on 22 June 2023 12.00 clock, the tour lasts 5 days.
The Challenge is not a race. Each motorcycle rides at its own speed and riding style and ability.
At 2 intermediate places we will camp for 2 nights each. This means that we only have to build-up and break down the tents only 2 times.
The routes are provided in GPX format only. The files together with all necessesary information’s will be sent to you 2 weeks before the tour starts. A valid E-Mail address is therefore mandatory!
The start numbers will handed out on 18/06/2023 at the starting location in 6518 Melide from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.
The Tour is intended as a challenge for experienced and ambitious Goldwing riders who would like to explore lesser-known but beautiful areas of the Alps on an organized, unguided tour, in a group of like-minded people and friends.
If you like to take longer breaks more often, for sightseeing, extended lunch breaks and museum visits, or you like to sit in front of your tents, this tour is not for you.
Every day we drive about 160 to 350 km, without freeways (no vignette), only on public roads.
There will be several checkpoints per day, which have to be documented by means of a photo camera. The valuation will take place on the same day at the campsite, closing time for controls is 20.00 o'clock. With successful documentation of the daily target this is stamped on the starting number.
Only a completely filled out starting number entitles you to participate in the finisher party on 22.06.2023 in Arbon and to receive the T-shirt, badge and certificate.
However, if you love to take beautiful rides in a unique area with your Goldwing, spending good time with friends and being in the saddle most of the day, then this challenge is perfectly for you.

On the website you fill out a registration form completely.
After you have filled in all the fields in this form, you can send it. You will get a copy of the form in your e-mail.

Transfer the total participation fees in Euros to the account of "SWISS ALPINE GOLDWING CHALLENGE 2023" (IBAN:CH35 0025 4254 1535 2042H, BIC:UBSWCHZH80A) with the reference 1st SAGC-2023 followed by your name, address and date of birth.
Upon receipt of your full payment and processing of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from the organization to the email address provided. (Make sure you enter the correct E-Mail address, as all communication will be done in this way only!)
2 weeks before the tour starts, you will receive the routes in GPS-format.
Included in the registration fee: Raclette. For those who finish the Challenge in full, a T-Shirt, a badge and a certificate will be given at the finisher party on the last evening.

If by any reason, you cannot attend the callenge, then follow these rules: first of all, inform the organization in time.

These dates are not chosen by chance, as we also have obligations towards to our supplier of the T-Shirts as well as the camping spots owners, we cannot make any exceptions regarding these dates.

A few simple rules

As the organizer we have established a few simple rules. We ask all participants to follow them, which you also confirm with your registration.

Each participant drives at his own risk and liability. All vehicles must be officially registered, technically correct and have an insurance. The organization is NOT responsible for theft or accident. Wearing of helmet as well as driving with low-beam headlights is mandatory. The organizer rejects any liability.
Since we are staying two days each on two campsites, we could arrange a favorable agreement with the campsite owners, on the basis of small tents. We strongly request you to avoid large family tents, and to use small tents!
There are limited spaces in the campgrounds, so please do not keep spaces free or block them for friends.
On day 2 and day 4, the start and finish locations are each at the same place. Therefore, we request not to carry the trailers on the round trip.
This challenge is for participants who ride GWEF recognized motorcycles only.
Always follow the instructions of the organizers and/or the campsite staff.
Follow the traffic rules and stay alert. (Speeding fines are very expensive in Switzerland).
Respect your participating friends, either at the campsite or on the road. Everyone rides in his own way and respect that.
As organizers, we assure you that we will do everything possible to provide the participants an unforgettable experience. So, have fun and be responsible so that we can return to these places in the future.
If there is a problem with the GPX data, clarify it before the start of the tour. Once we are on the road we can no longer give GPX support.
This tour will be held according to the GWEF - rules. If you participate in the challenge, you commit to respect these rules (https://gwef.eu/index.php/event-rules).
